Tax Assistance

A FREE, volunteer-staffed community service is available in Boerne!  The preparation and FREE e-filing of individual income tax returns, from February 1 through April 18, 2016. There are no income or age restrictions. Service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

The volunteers from AARP can assist with tax questions and can complete virtually any IRS forms. Taxpayers must bring a copy of last year's tax return, photo ID, and Social Security card. Volunteers preparing tax returns are not IRS employees, but are trained and certified by the IRS. 

Tax returns are prepared at the Patrick Heath Public Library on Mondays, from 2pm to 6pm, Tuesdays, from 1pm to 6pm, and Wednesdays, 1pm to 6pm. The library's tax service will not be available on Monday, February 15, due to the President's Day holiday.

Tax preparation will also take place at the Kronkosky Senior Center, 17 Old San Antonio Road, on Mondays from 8am to noon. (Tax preparation WILL take place at Kronkosky on Monday, February 15.)

Tax preparation will also take place at the Golden Age Center at 628 Hwy 27 in Comfort, on the following Thursdays: 2/11, 2/25, 3/10, 3/24, and 4/7
