The Adopt-a-Park program is a volunteer supported program that invites citizens to help the Parks and Recreation Department to provide, protect, and preserve a Park System that promotes quality recreational, cultural, and outdoor experiences for the Boerne Community. Through this program a variety of group volunteer opportunities are available.
Park / Facility Enhancement (pick up litter, paint furniture, maintain landscaping, beautify facility)
Education Programs (instructor, guide, mentor, leader for a program, workshop)
Environmental Protection (remove invasive species and/or re-vegetate areas with native plants, install erosion controls, plant and/or support a tree planting by installing irrigation, care for existing trees by spreading mulch, monitor tree conditions, create wildlife habitat)
Capital Improvements (fund, design, develop, and install a park or facility improvement project, i.e. shade structure, picnic table, a trail, erosion control structure, landscaping)
