What does a business inspection consist of?
Business inspections are conducted on an annual basis and are usually unannounced. Inspectors check exit lights, emergency lighting, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire protection systems, and extinguishers. In addition to the previously mentioned items inspectors also check for general fire and life safety concerns. Any discrepancies found will be noted and time will be allotted to resolve them. Each occupancy will be given an inspection form with all discrepancies noted. Follow-up inspections will be scheduled on specific dates.
